Through the GMPBasic patented livestock Identification, traceability and management software animal data can be placed on the central animal health database. This becomes an International repository for secure code verification which can be accessed by authorised law enforcement agencies to verify if commodities are stolen, counterfeit, parallel imports or being round tripped.

In order to protect the owner of the animal as far as is possible the business has patented a UNIQUE identification code which is placed on a machine readable ear tag and which is also human readable. This is a combination of a tamper evident , non re-usable ear tag which is manufactured and supplied to GMPBasic. These unique numbers are linked to a central data base through whichHierdie unieke nommers is reeds gekoppel aan n sentrale databasis waardeur verifikasie van die oorplaatjies gedoen word.

This same database can be used for the agricultural database, recording, tracking and tracing all movement of agricultural livestock, agricultural commodities, DNA info, research data, disease outbreaks and control.

GMP Traceability Solutions is a business which focusses primarily on the management of animals through an identification software program which was developed in South Africa. The main focus of the program is traceability of processes, products and animal management.

We offer additional services to farmers, auctioneers, feedlots, abattoirs who wish to implement a comprehensive traceability.

The database hosting through a trusted third party, allows tracking of animals from point of origin to processing without a major burden to producers and other stakeholders. Scanning the barcode ear tags, information is captured and recorded within seconds on the local PC software. This may be uploaded via internet to the central data base.
