A bird's unique code being applied to the bird.
Once the operator is sure it is on the bird, the
number is locked into the system.

This bird's eyes are being held closed. This
procedure assists to keep the birds calm.
Dr
Olivier, then takes a blood sample from the
bird's neck vein. All done with great care and
in a calm environment.
The blood is then identified
to the bird's number and
sent together with all the
other samples to the
laboratory for testing.
