The whole herd was tested for Brucellosis (C.A) and Tuberculosis (T.B) by the state veterinary department
CA testing of Cattle herds

-------------------

The cattle were sorted into homogenous groups a few days before the auction. Each group was identified with cold branding irons that were dipped into silver paint.

-------------------

Each group was brought into the auction circle inside the auction tent. The farmers and prospective buyers were seated around the auction ring from where they could view the animals. Bidding was conducted by the auctioneer of the day.

-------------------

Cows and suckling calves were kept together and were auctioned as such. Cow and calf groups were batched together. The animals were all registered into GMP

-------------------

There was even a presence of animal health companies e.g. MSD animal health. They had a variety of their products displayed on branded flags. These products are important for success of the livestock sector.

-------------------

No job is done until the 'paper work' is done. Yes, the payments were done remotely via internet connectivity. Each farmer brought his auction slip to the table with the details of the relevant animals that were purchased.
